Any advice on how to heal a swollen leg?!


Question: I was walking and I tripped on my side. It didn't hurt too bad until the afternoon. Now my leg is swollen and it kind of hurts to bend it. Does anyone have any advice how to make it heal faster? I've already iced it.

RICE: Rest Ice Compression (ace bandage) & Elevation. There is the probability that you have a soft tissue injury. There's nothing you can really do to make it heal faster. Take pain relievers but make sure you don't take over the recommended amount. Good luck!

all i can say is ice...ice always takes the swelling down. Now if u had a fever i could be of more help lol, but i dont know of anyway to relieve swelling cept for ice....or frozen hunk of steak =P

The best thing you can do for it is put ice on it and relax and stay off of it, the more you walk on it the longer it will take to heal

Well i fractured my knee and it was swollen and i couldnt bend it....all i could really do was put ice on it and it eventually healed. there's not much you can do besides that. i'm sorry. good luck.

sleep with it elevated and stay off of it if you can.

usually it is RICE.rest.ice compression.elevation.............and an anti inflamitary................if real bad go to the hospital or family doc..........

U have to elevate it fast....lay on the couch and put the leg up
on the back of the sofa. Keep it elevated. If it is your knee, u may have sprung it and need a splint from a doc.
Get it xrayed if the swelling does not go down by morn.
Take a motrin for swelling also.

Of course ice it but ice it for 15 minutes then take it off and put it back again. Also elevate it on to some pillows and put some icyhot on it or something. Dont walk.

R.I.C.E.--Rest,Ice,Compress,Elevate...an... go see your doctor.seemingly little things can sometimes be more serious than you think.I was walking a lot one day,and my knee started hurting.I thought it was just cuz I'd been exercising too much,but the pain wouldn't go away.I went to the doctor and got x-rays,and my knee was badly sprained.I had to do physical therapy for about 6 weeks.

a good home remedy for swelling is actually listerine. If you can soak the leg in a solution about 20-25% listerine (the yellow death flavor, not the mint), it should help with the swelling.

This is not a good remedy if you're a girl and have to get your girly parts immersed as it's not good for mucous membranes.

I used to do alot of equestrian sport and we used this all the time on ourselves and the horses.

all you need to do is get some creches and then once you have them put ice on it and get a cold hot pad on it from wal-mart.then start to walk on it a little bit

1.hot and cold water alternativly and tobear the heatatleast do for 7 times daily for a week.u will be fine.
2.In the evenings apply boroplus, powder .
3. Sprinkle healex plus spray dressing for local use.THIS IS OR SIMILAR SPRAY USED FOR ATHLETS 0R CRICKETEERS WHEN HURT AND TO START AFTER FEW MINUTES TO PLAY
