Pain Medicine Not Working for Headache?!
Question: I have a really bad headache. I've taken Advil and Vicodin. Niether product has stopped my headache. Ive had a splitting headache for nearly 12 hours. If I go to the ER/Urgent care is there something else they can give me other than pain meds to get rid of this headache? I think it is a migraine. I've had them in the past but it's been several years.

well i get chronic mingranes and they are no fun to where i get really sick from the to where nothing works....if you go to the er they will give you a shot which is a coctail and it will help you seince you have not had them in a while...where me they have to give me 3 about 4 hours apart and i have to have some one drive me home because i am out of it for a while....but mine last for about 3 to 4 days and they have done every thing for me and the only thing that works for me is a trip to the er....but if you take excederine it may help the caffiene and asprin in it helps me if i take it before it gets too bad....i hope i have helped you in some sort of way...if you can not afford to go call the closest er and see what they say...because you may have to wait it out to see if it is persistant...good luck and be careful when taking medications together
There are many different pain meds out there.
If your head hurts that bad I would go to the ER if you are not getting any relief from what meds you have at home.
There could be something more serious going on.
This sounds silly but there is a product called "head on" and its like a big tube of chapstick that you roll onto your forehead. There is a migraine formula that works like a charm. I would give this a try...it works so well for me!
