Weird pain in my legs, happens at night time?!

Question: Even if I haven't been walking around all day, it can still happen and has. It's a sore, almost like a nerve pain feeling that shoots up my legs at night time. I have had this going on for a couple of years now, but I notice it more often lately? Sometimes the pain is moderate, and sometimes it hurts so much that it takes away from a good nights rest. Does anyone know what causes this? Or what it is? Or experiences it as well?

I get that sometimes too. It will help if you get up and stretch your legs while you're having the pain. Also, you need more potassium in your diet. Try eating a banana every day.

YOU MAY HAVE RESTLESS LEG, PROBLEMS. NOT BEING FUNNY BUT IT'S TRUE!

Are you sure these aren't leg cramps?

Yes, it is called "Restless Legs Syndrome" and is very common and easily treatable.
It consists of a very annoying sensation in your legs when you're lying down (or even sitting) to the point that you want to move your legs or even get up and walk a little.
The medications Requip and Mirapex can easily control the symptoms.

Lack of potassium or "RLS" or you just need to some stretching before going to bed

Sounds like what they call "restless legs". It's fairly common, if that's it. I get it at times, and find deeply massaging the heck out of my legs helps a lot, and lets me go back to sleep.

Well I'm no Doctor, but have been around :)
Any kind of shooting pain down the legs , or arms for that matter, is more than likely a nerve problems. Have you ever injured your nerves around the spine area?
Well either case, you really need to get that checked out by a doctor, sense it is getting worst and keeping you up. That is something that needs medical attention, if you have no insurance, there should be a walk-in clinic somewhere , for those that have no insurance.
Sincerely
I agree with the others too, maybe try eating a banana everyday and stretching, if that don't help then you know to go see a doc.'

Sounds like to me you have Restless Leg Syndrome. I had this for years. It is worse at times than others. Check out the link below. Hope it helps.

You should consult a doctor. There could be one of any number of reasons for your pain however most of them are reasons for concern. Pain is a way your body has of telling you something is not right. If you ignore it hoping it will go away you are only allowing it to get worse and maybe get to a point where the problem is far worse than if it could have been addressed earlier. Without knowing other facts such as your age it would be a guess at best for me or anyone else on Y/A to properly diagnose your problem. You are not describing symptoms of restless leg syndrome so don't listen to those telling you that is what your problem is. You say it is a pain and RLS is a sensation of needing to move your legs rather than being painful.

You may be suffering from RLS as I do. Its called Restless Leg Syndrome. Go see your family Dr they can prescibe light meds that will cease the pain/uncomfortable feeling in your legs and you can finally sleep. Good Luck

If it is what I get, which all of a sudden I have a pinch that hurts so bad usually in my calves and shoots up my leg it means that you are not drinking enough water.

I don't think it's Restless Leg Syndrome. It sounds like a Charley Horse (muscle cramp). If it happens at night, and it's a shooting pain, not a constant pain, it's more likely a Charley Horse. The best way to get rid of it is to stand up on that leg, it should go away quickly. RLS is the feeling of unrest, like you want to move your legs around, it's not a feeling of pain, but it is a "pain" to deal with (I know, I have RLS).

Whenever there us pain in your body there is a source from which it comes. I would see your primary care doctor first then ask to see a Neurologist and find the cause from someone of that nature that is trained to deal with symptoms of that kind. It may be nothing serious, but do check it out.
Good luck.
PS you are one pretty woman.

my x had this problem... you lack sex. thus, why she is my x. lol
