Answers: i always burn my tongue r there any cures ??

once you have burnt your tongue the action you take will determine how long you will be in any pain, the first thing you should do is cool the burn as in all burns the longer the go without being cooled the worse the burn is. scalds are the same in there treatment. You need to cool your tongue off as quickly as possible from the time you burnt/scalded it. any cold liquid will do or ice direct onto the burn/scald it needs the same amount of cooling time as any other burn which is ten minutes minimum, if the tongue swells seek medical advice from an accident dept. The only prevention of this is to test the temperature of your food/drink before consumption, testing your food is simple, even if you may have any eyesight problems. If your sight is fine look for steam if you are still unsure you can use a food thermometer or if your eyesight is not so good putting a little finger in the middle of your food/drink will tell you if it is too hot. if your finger finds it too hot then its too hot for your mouth. prevention is always better than a cure or treatment. but cooling the area is the best thing you can do for any burn. Please do not put bonjela strait onto a fresh burn whilst it is hot it seals in the heat and makes the burn worse, but after the tongue is cool it can be applied to ease pain.
If in severe pain or if there is swelling or the burnt/scalded area is more than a two pence piece in size seek medical advise. your gp or accident/emegency department will be only to glad to help. NHS direct has more information on there website on how to treat burns/scalds. there web address is www.NHSdirect.co.uk this is available to advise people even if you are not in the uk.

I think putting sugar on your tongue is supposed to help

Eating your food cooler and slower

suck an ice cube

Putting sugar on it supposedly works... ;0)

Bonjela

Did you know that because your mouth and throat are so sensitive, they heal in about 9 hours.

toothpaste

Stop lighting your cigarettes with a blow lamp.
Use a lighter.

dip your tongue in really cold milk

cook it on a lower heat and let it cool before eating

Ice cream - yummy!

I've got some "cream" you can put on that ;-)

No nature cures it after a few days,,,for relief try some Honey,,,,,

loads of good advice here, ice cubes, bonjella etc but if its a cure your looking for. The best advice can only be ....... cool your food and then you wont burn your tongue.

I also get that whenever I have tea or coffee or anything like that,I just wait and it usually heals itself in 1 or 2 days but maybe eating ice cubes or like someone here said, wat sugar.

no cures, try and let your food cool down first might help, or you could try milk or yoghurt

The cure is not to eat/drink anything too hot. Relief may be had by eating a lolly/popsicle or sucking an ice cube.

I dont think anything really helps. Just be carefull nest time.

No solid food for three days. Afterwards, only time will cure. And for this that you
always burn your tongue the only cure is to avoid hot food or beverage.
