Hi - I quit 23 Feb last year and even now want to smoke! First up, you have to WANT to quit, if you dont want to (like I dont actually want to but HAVE to) then youll struggle.

Stay away from people / places with smoke for a few weeks to get over that 'hump', dont play chicken with how long you can stay in a smokey atmosphere as itll only make you break and have one lol

Distraction works great. If you have a hobby or pass-time, really focus on it in your spare time as this will help keep your mind off the cigs

I went cold turkey, no patches or anything, and I think Ive finally done it! Good luck to you. Drop me a line if you want to chat :D Bxx

It Metaly hard even after 1 year.

i never found any easy way to give up cigarettes as it's the hardest thing i every finally did (many attempts before it finally worked). The only way to do it is just to do it. Keep yourself really busy (& fit), brush your teeth lots to enjoy the experience of a fresh mouth & throw on a patch just to take some edge off the nicotene withdrawal. Good luck & although it takes ages the urge does go away & one day you will be an annoying ex smoker who hates smoking.

Yaa , U will get these type of idea but always the best one is
the most simple one :-
do it :-

1) Leave friends who r used to smoke.
2) if wanna to smoke then generally try to get 1 cig. rather than a pack
3) try to search for a alternative for smoking

these r done by me and i got benefited.

Giving up smoking was one of the hardest things I have ever done, but in the end I did it!, I went cold turkey for about a month then decided I would try having one, I felt sick and dizzy and that made me stay away from them. My husband used the chewing gum, then went on to the patches, then started having peppermints to replace the cigs, it took a while but he did it.
Good Luck and I hope you succeed. Take care
