Question: my mother has had carpal tunnel symptoms for years. she cannot afford the surgery but did finally get a shot and has had much relief from it.
my question is how long will this last?.. i really am glad for her relief.

Depends really. Sometimes the relief is permanent but more often than not, it recurs. Only surgery offers permanent relief if done correctly.
It will relieve it for a week or so. That is as long it helped me. Be careful because they say it is not good to keep getting the shots.
Maybe she could get therapy to help her with the symptoms if she can't afford the surgery.
