Who do I go to for a prescription sleep aid in the USA?!

Question: I don't have insurance and I was quoted 800-900 dollars for a sleep study. I just can't afford that kind of money! I'm in school and I work part-time. I've had nightmares since I was 13 and they keep getting worse to the point where I'm waking up at least 10 times a night and I'm thrashing in my sleep and keeping my boyfriend up. It's to the point where I can't function during the day because I'm so tired. I've tried over the counter pills and melatonin. I don't have a family doctor...I'm desperate here!

If you're in college, go to the campus nurse, tell her your issues..she should be abe to help you find and get into a free clinic...she's the one with the rsources, it is her job Dear...My Best to YOU...By the way, Do you have pparents you can speak to? Hugs..hope and Health to you (--_--)

you would have to go to a doctor to get the prescription. If you will have trouble paying for the prescription, you could contact the drug manufacturer, many have plans that will give away or sell at a great discount to people in financial hardship.

Pick a Doctor and go see him.

Go to a family clinic. Try to find one in your area. They can help with everything including the nightmares. Good Luck!

i was prescribed to ambien and quit after 2 weeks because they didn't work well. i wouldn't fall asleep within 30 minutes like they said and the next day i felt exhausted. also, w/o insurance it's way too expensive. there are many practices you can implement in your life that promote good sleeping habits such as exercise and diet schedules. i would look into the natural ways first and not try and rely on the american "pill to fix anything" outlook. also, nightmares could mean you need to talk to a professional. they may be able to alleviate those things affecting your sleep habits. good luck!
