Use crutches if it hurts to walk. I don't know if you mean in your knee or ankle; I assume ankle since you said your toes hurt when you bend them. You'll also need a bandage or wrap to support the joint because tendons and ligaments take a very long time to heal. I twisted my ankle once and injured the soft tissue so badly I had a cast on for 6 weeks and a brace on for 8 weeks after that. You might want to consider seeing a doctor. If you don't treat it properly it'll give you problems the rest of your life.

if it hurts to walk then go right ahead. the most important thing for healing is to be comfortable.

Take Ibuprofen to help heal the inflammation and swelling.

Ice it once or twice a day. Using crutches will help it heal more quickly .

Seeing an orthopedist for an X ray would be a good Idea.

Wearing Crutches while dancing the Charleston, new spin on me! I think you mean using crutches. The answer is NO, NO and NO! You obviously enjoy Musical Performances and so you really do not want to put your future Performances at risk, which you will do by using crutches. Crutches take the full weight of your body, shoulders, elbows, wrists, hands and one good leg. So you are shifting weight away from the 'injured foot' which is good? No because what will happen, the muscles in the injured leg, foot, ankle, knee, hip will 'waste away' so you will only 'compound' the problem. It would be far better to see your Doc, get him to examine the injury and see if he can give you some good medical treatment. Good Luck
