My husbands smelly feet?!

Question: My husband wants to soak his feet b/c they smell, what do you think would be an appropriate soak for his feet, what type of ingredients, he also has a lot of calluses and stuff like that too. Thanks for your answer! We are hoping for something that will help cut down on odor, also if you know any homemade recipes of like a spray that we can put in his shoes that would be great to know too!

I've read that soaking your feet in tea helps kill odor. He can use a pumice stone on the calluses to wear them down. You can tuck dryer sheets in his shoes over night to help them smell fresher. And he should use powder on his feet to help absorb the moisture. Also, leather shoes with leather soles breathe better than man made products.

oatmeal mix its not actual oatmeal its bath stuff it does great with those kinds of things

I would say baking soda, both for the soak and to put inside the shoes. It's always recommended for odor control in the fridge, litterbox, garbage disposal and other household uses. It's inexpensive, so if it doesn't work, you didn't spend a bundle on it.

get dr scholl's odor eaters at your local drug store. He needs to see a foot specialist.

well.......DR Oz on Oprah says to soak them in a warm tub of water with like 6 tea bags every day for about a week and the anitoxidents in the tea is sappose to take away the odor.

Stimpson is right, baking soda works wonders. Nobody effing believes it. I guess that unless ya spend 10 dollars nothing will work.

I don't have an answer just wanted to say thanks for posting this question. My husbands feet smell like rotten cheese!!! I don't know what to do (how can HE not smell it) he is killing me and the 4 year old!!!!

Make Sure He wears White Socks as Much as Possible. I know that is not good to have to do, but it will ultimately cut down or completely cut out the smell altogether-
You should change all his shoes and if he has to put a Dryer Sheet in the Bottom of his Shoes.
Good Luck!
Oh! and make sure he never wears any shoes without having Socks on-especially Tennis shoes!

I would use foot powder if I were him to control the odor. Try odor eaters to put in his shoes to help get rid of the smell. Also, for the callouses you can buy either a pumice stone or a rasp to file them down. I have hard callouses on my feet as well and every other week or so, I file them down using a rasp. Just don't overuse the rasp since if you take off too dead skin you can cause serious injury to the bones in the foot over time.

Buy the "Sally Hansen Just Feet All Day Foot Spray". It really works. It keeps feet not only odor-free, but dry as well.
Before that I'd tried baking powder, but that's absolutely ineffective; may work for one day if he is lucky. I the sprayed the Sally Hansen into some shoes with fabric insoles. The smell is gone and my feel no longer sweat. After having tried many other sprays, Dr Scholls, Arm & Hammer, the Sally Hansen was a pleasant surprise. Good luck.

white vinegar & water....
also tell him to use deoderant on the bottom of his feet when he comes out of the shower.
it works, but it will dry up his feet a little.

Other people can smell your body odors and mouth odors better than you because they may have a different type of bacteria turning sweat into putrid smells!
Baking soda neutralizes odors, oatmeal is a good ingredient that will help soften the calluses. He can use foods that have astringent properties like lemon juice, or anything that will make a "mud" pack helps your skin.
Thick, white socks help absorb the moisture, preventing bacteria from feeding on it provided that the socks are removed after a reasonably short time.
Watching what he eats can help and always remove shoes when he gets home! He can wash them immediately and use the mudpack to wash the odor and bacteria off his feet as much as possible. It really can be tough to smell it yourself especially if nobody seems to notice, by not saying anything! If he can afford to use two different pairs of shoes, he should do so. Avoid using closed slippers, opentoed are better for people who tend to get recurring athlete's feet.

A table spoon of high strength liquid chlorophyll every day will help as it deodorises your foot and body odours before they come out of your pores.
