Knee surgery?!

Question: i've had knee surgery about 3 weeks ago and the pain is horrible.I was on lortab 7.5 for a while and now since the doc has taken me off of them, are there anything i can take to take the pain away like lortab did? I don't need answers like i have a problem cause i know people that sells them like tic tacs ,just need something to ease the pain while i'm going through knee re-hab.

I think you should talk to your doctor. Pain might be an indicator that something isn't right. Do you have screws or pins in your point? I had some screws in my knee and one year later at a post op check the doctor discovered that one had split in two.
You can take ibuprophrin and probably a lot - but ask your doc. B/c it is a blood thinner and it can mess up your stomach so eat bread or milk when you take it. I think I took 800 mg (4 pills) even at 12. I am not a doctor though so please head my medical disclaimer :)

Took lots of naproxin after my knee surgery...wasn't as good as the percocet, but was better than nothing

Yes, talk to your doctor. I have had knee surgery twice, & my doctor was much more understanding about my pain. He should not have just cut you off like that. You can try advil liquid gel caps. But if pain is too bad for you to do re-hab, explain that to him, and tell him you need a lower strength of lortabs, until the pain is better. Also, did you ask your doctor for something called a cryo cuff? It is a neat device that keeps your knee surrounded by ice cold water. It takes down swelling and helps alleviate the pain substancially. It worked well for me. If that fails, get a referral to a pain doctor while you are going through re-hab and recovery. Hope that helps! Good luck!
