Stinging pain in leg?!

Question: The past few days my left leg has gotten considerably worse with pain. Usually around night time my left leg has a shooting pain from the top of my leg, under my buttocks that shoots down to my calf...It feels like maybe a pinched nerve or something. It has started to make my foot hurt as well, movement, squatting, sitting, even laying or moving the wrong way causes a pins and needles sensation shooting up and down my leg, anyone had a similar problem or give me an idea what's wrong? I haven't had any injuries or done anything too phsyically stressful lately at all.

sounds like a sciatic nerve .....The pain often comes suddenly, creating immediate distress. Potentially the most serious of lower back problems, sciatica results from compression of the sciatic nerve, the largest nerve in the human body. About the width of a thumb when it branches out from nerve roots on the lower spine, the sciatic nerve threads its way behind the hip joint, deep into the buttocks, down the hip and along the back of the leg all the way to the foot. Typically, the pain results when the nerve on one side becomes stretched or pinched usually by something which narrows its passageway such as arthritis or a bulging or herniated disk. The result can be sharp pain in one part of the hip or leg but is more likely to be some combination of pain, numbness, burning, tingling or needles and pins sensation anywhere from the hip to the toe usually on one side only. The pain typically gets worse after a long period of standing or sitting such as riding in a car and it may also be aggravated by coughing, sneezing or laughing.
Do a search on it...there are lots of remedies to help....and suggestions ....

Are yu sure you don't have any health conditions, like diabetes? Just move and elevate your legs alot

My dad has what you have, and it's his hips! You can't really do anything about it, but get new hips. Try sleeping on your good side with a pillow between your knees. This takes the pressure off your hip. When my dad gets it he screeches because of the shooting pain, then loses sensation in his entire leg including his foot and hobbles around the house for a few hours. Yes it hurts to sit, stand, and even lie down.

go see a chiropractor,I'm having the same problem now.just out of the blue,it started,I'm not an athlete.it happened to me before, and the chiropractor helped.good luck!probably you will need a couple adjustments, and put some ice/frozen peas or corn on the sore area!

I know how you feel, if you sit for a while and to stand up quickly, it feels like as if someone has stabbed you on the side under your bottom. I had the same problem and I'm only 16. When I used to go to sleep I had to constantly make my pillows higher so it wasn't bent. Anyway, my advice is that you get it looked at, my problem wasn't so bad. I tried deep heat and walked around the house, after time it just went. Hope you get better!
