Does anyone know how to stay in shape with a broken leg?!

Question: I can put weight on the leg just not a lot.

Answers: I can put weight on the leg just not a lot.

The most important thing is not to let the muscles get too weak. As long as you ocntinue to move the leg as much as permitted the muscle will keep tone. As for the rest of you body you can use small weights or other resistance training. You can buy what looks like large rubber bands and they can be used for resistance training. It is something that they do use in physical therapy.

you are screwed.

do alot of upper body stuff. like lift weights. anything that gets yrr heart rate up or makes yew sweat helps yew stay in shape

try to concentrate on eating healthier,
follow advice from your physician and physical therapist,
lift upper-body and/or core (abs and back)
swim and other cardio exercises you can do with a broken leg

There are DVDs available called the "Sit and Be Fit" series.
It gives you a good workout just by sitting in a chair! It's weird, but it works! You can find them online (google).

work your upper body. do as much as you can on your leg until you cant anymore. thats about it unfortunately. dont be surprised if you lose a great deal of muscle in the broke leg. mine was immobile for over 9 months, i couldnt put any weight on it at all. i had little or no muscle in it when the brace came off.
