Distal phalanx fracture?!

Question: it just happened Thursday on my right ring finger. does anyone know how long i need to wear a splint and how long it will hurt. Because I'm going up north to go skiing next wk do you think it will be healed enough ti ski?

also i ran into someone and i bit my lip pretty bad and its swollen how long is it going to be swollen?

First off get some ice on the lip, that will take care of the swelling. You should be able to ski but make sure that your finger is kept immobile. Use a metal splint that covers the entire finger and prevents it from bending. Bind it over, but not too tightly, you don't want to restrict blood flow.
