My finger won't stop bleeding?!

Question: I cut my finger with a razor blade over one and a half hours ago and it just looks like a very small cut but it won't stop bleeding and it's bleeding pretty fast, it went all over my bed and the floor. I know that some people talk longer to stop bleeding than others and as far as I know I don't have any blood disorders, any idea why it isn't stopping?

Usually when you cut yourself with a razor they are only surface cuts and for some reason these cuts tend to bleed more than others. You need to apply pressure to the area or else the bleeding wont stop. Get a clothe and press on the area. Dont push too hard but make sure that the pressure that you apply is firm and hold it there for 10 mins. Check is it still bleeding? Hold for another 10 mins. The cut will eventually stop bleeding just as long as you apply pressure for long enough. Make sure you clean the area after the bleeding stops with antiseptic and cover with a bandaid to prevent dirt and dust getting into the wound.

superglue it.

razor cuts do that to me to...small but deep...i would get a damp paper towle and press hard on your cut...it might hurt but it will sllow do the bleeding...just hold it there for a while pressing hard....

then maybe put a bandage

put pressure on the cut with a tissue for about 5 - 10 mins. see if it stops the blood from coming.

omg go to the doctor immediaty..you could have cut a blood vein or sumthin

You need to apply firm, constant direct pressure for at least 15 minutes without peeking at it. Also keep that arm elevated above your head. If after that it continues to actively bleed you need to go to the ER for stitches. There is no reason at this point to worry about a blood disorder. Razor cuts can be deeper than they look and just need to be closed with sutures to stop bleeding. You may also need a tetanus booster, ask your Dr.

rap ur finger up and hold go pressure on it for 15-20 mins w/ out looking at it and that should help. If u peek then it's not going to help u.

U should be more careful.

get stitches
