Why would my Dr give me a thumbs up for smoking pot,.....?!
Question: ..but nox give me a Rx for the legal thc that doesn't give you the high? I have 24/7 muscle cramps... hurts and you can't sleep. I know noone likes pot smokers, but let me paint you a picture... Imagine flexing your arm. OK, keep it flexed for 3 years 24/7. I have that in both legs. I do not need negative answers.

the only synthetic cannabinoid available currently in the US is Marinol. This drug is only indicated for severe nausea and vomiting and the anorexia seen commonly in HIV and chemotherapy. The studies with this medication have actually shown an increase incidence in muscle pain. Therefore, you physician may not feel that marinol is indicated. There is another THC derivative drug available currently in Canada, which is being approved for use by the FDA. The full uses of this medication have yet to be explored in the US.
I'm sure your physician wants you to be comfortable, and while he cannot legally support your use of an illegal substance, he certainly wants you to have relief.

However, individual beliefs, do not change the current US laws or DEA and FDA regulations. If a physician prescibes this substance under current US and state laws, they can lose their license to practice medicine and their ability to prescribe medications. I'm sure if it isn't legal, he can't officially say to use it or write a prescription. If it helps medically, I'm all for it, but that isn't what everyone believes.
