The girl above me is wrong -- it only takes five years for a whole new set of lungs to grow, and I know that because I am good friends with a nursing student.
No way to find out in your situation, but in biology last semester we learned that second hand smoke is worse than first hand and once you quit it takes 10 years for your lungs to return to some degree of normalcy.
You are always short of breath and your lungs get tarred and blackened by all that nicotine. If u give up smoking now your lungs will return to normal and you will feel much healthier and live longer
