Random ringing noise?!

Question: About 4 times a month I hear a ringing noise that no one else can hear and it lasts about 3 or 4 seconds. I have found no connections between any of them and they have been happening since I was little. It sounds really long and high piched and I can still hear other things while it's happening.

Anyone know what it is or could be?

The medical term for ringing in the ears is Tinnitus; sometimes it occurs for no apparent reason. Some things to rule out, however, are wax buildup in the ears, high blood pressure, increased intracranial pressure (caused by fluid build up), trauma caused by loud noises (loud work area or concerts), otosclerosis, or if you experience vertigo, possibly Meniere's Disease. Only a doctor can diagnose your condition, but if you get dizzy spells, or the condition worsens you should definitely consult a physician.

who knows?

i heard listening to very loud music can make that happen

That happens to my dad. It's hearing damage, but if it only happens to you 4 times a month it probably isn't too bad.
