Try over-the-counter painkillers. Use a heating pad. Place the pad on your right side just under your rib cage so it covers part of your abdomen and part of your back. If you have two heating pads, you may want to place one on your abdomen and one behind your back. Walk. The pain is sometimes lessened with movement. Try pacing. Avoid eating. This will just make the attack worse by causing the gallbladder to contract. Drinking water may help.

Been there. I had mine out several years ago. To me it was worse than labor. Try to do what I had suggested. Believe me, you will feel so much better when it is out. Good Luck!

no

take at least 8 motrin/tylenol a day, 4 every 6 hours. my sister had that when she was only 13 and she did that =]

Not really. But sitting in a hot tub helps sometimes. If it gets really bad, go to the emergency room. They can give you a shot to help east the pain. I had mine out 24 years ago. I remember how painful those attacks can be.

French Bread and watter...

I feel soooo sorry for you. I know what you are going through. I had the same thing for 2 years and on Christmas of 06 had is taken out. Gallbladder attack are horrible and extremely uncomfortable. I could never find any home remedies to help, but I did find that Zantac helped me. It's for heart burn, but it helped for a while when I had the attacks and then up until I had to have emergency surgery it stopped working for me...the attacks just got worse and nothing could solve it. Thankfully I had it removed. Try the Zantac-75. If you can. It worked wonders for me and I hope it works for you. Good luck on Friday. And be sure to rest afterwards!
