Problems with toes?!

Question: Okay this will sound disgusting but here goes...
I am a clean, healthy 21 year old. Over the xmas holiday I developed a red lump on the side of 1 of my toes which was quite itchy. I usually walk around my house bare foot, my floors are very clean. I sometimes wear socks so they arent always on hard floor. Shortly after the first I got another lump on a different toe and within a week I had developed several lumps on almost all of my toes on both feet. Some of the toes had also became a lil swollen aswell. Because it was Christmas I wasnt at college so I hadnt been out & wearing shoes so its not that!
I went to see my doctor &she didnt know what it was but gave me a course of antibiotics. She told me to come back if they dont go & she'll refer me to a foot doctor, which i'll do. Im almost finished & I still have the lumps but they arent as itchy & 3 lumps have turned purple.

I just want to know if anyone else has had this&knows what it is. I dont need remedies, im just a lil worried

I am amazed. When a Doctor says that he/she does not know what it is.........you should immediately ask for him to recommend a specialist, in your case a Podiatrist, or Foot Doctor. Get to the Podiatrist of your own choosing, now,and see whether he/she knows what it is ,and have it treated there if they do. if he does not know what it is ask him to recommend where you should go next. Getting to the emergency room at the hospital will often solve the problem of referrals to proper care.Do not worry, search........for help

Possibly this?

Have you tried lotrimin or something anti-fungal? It doesn't sound like athlete's foot but maybe that would help anyway. Good luck!!

From all I can think of it sounds like you have an infection. Some infections can take a long time to treat but you have to keep on it.

I had something similar happen to the ring finger of my right hand. It took about a month to get rid of.
