Sciatic nerve help?!

Question: I recently pinched my sciatic nerve. I'm currently inbetween jobs and can't afford treatments/prescriptions and doctor visit after doctor visit. What medications are typically prescribed for this? It mostly hurts at night or after extended periods of standing or sitting. A lot of the online pharmacies offer meds for reasonable prices. So, anyone know what I should be shopping for?

Hello,
Could you IM me on Yahoo IM? Got a few questions for ya.

an ice bag is allways your friend twenty minutes on and repeat ever hour or so. You llso need an anti infamitory drug like Advil and a bottel of Absorbine JR to rub on several times a day.

I'm a massage therapist and we usually try to stretch the piriformis muscle that lies directly above the nerve. Use ice and a ant-inflammatory for pain.

If it doesn't alleviate symptoms then see a doctor

I had this once; a good chiropractor cracked me & cured it in 1 visit.

I had it again 1 year later (after lifting too heavy) & I did the same thing to cure it.

I had it again this year for the same reason & he cured me again. so it works, but most medical doctors will only charge you high priced office visits, prescribe meds, have you return (you know the drill).

so find a good chiropractor. It took me 2 inefficient ones before I found a good one. I don't know what area you are in, but my chiropractor is in Santa Monica CA area.

In the meantime, you calm the inflammation by taking about 1 teaspoon of the spice called Turmeric, with about 1 very warm cut of lemony water & lay down on your back if you can, with legs up--so it takes pressure off your back. Preferably on a very firm mattress or floor.

Put the turmeric in your mouth under the tongue as you may not like the bland tase. Then chase it with the water. Try it again in a 30-40 minutes if you don't feel the inflammation ease. And again a 3rd time if still no ease. You can't really overdose because it's a food, a spice. Just don't take half the bottle in a day because you stomach may not like it.

also, continuous cold-packs on that back area helped me too.
I had to stay on my back about 24 hours before it really subsided for good. But on one occasion, I couldn't really even stand straight, so what else could I do?!

Good luck. And when you're well, do some back exercises, and take sufficient Calcium-Magnesium supplements to keep your vertebrae strong. And fresh living plants to give you sufficient "life force" to keep you healthy, as well as multi vitamins.

I used No drugs.
No office visits to a medical doctor as I didn't have insurance either.
Who can afford it?
The insurance companies take about 40% of all premiums. Insurance companies don't provide healthcare, so they shouldn't be involved in it.
Only Congressman Dennis Kucinich is promoting Universal Health Care without insurance companies (to use their 40% of premiums to actually provide US with healthcare),.

All the other Democrats want to placate the current drug companies. So the promote health care that will have much of our tax$ go to drug companies that will supply ever more drugs to us.

Drugs complicate my blood; I want pure blood because I know it's the life force that keeps me alive & healthy from pathogens.
