How long would u be out if u had a foot sprain?!


Question: I sprained my foot and i sat out for 1 week cuz it felt fine but then i sprained it again so i sat out for another week and i keep doing it idk how long i should be out for

A good sprain can take up to 4-6 weeks to heal. If you use it during that time, it can't heal. It also needs to be brought back up to exercise level slowly. Use the RICE acronym, Rest, Ice, Compression and Elevation. Ice it down 2-3 times a day and use an ace bandage to give it some support and compress it, don't wrap it too tightly though, you still need to have blood flow to the area. Finally, when sitting, elevate the leg and again at night, above the level of your heart. Try some Advil (with food), an anti-inflammatory. If it doesn't start to feel better after a couple of weeks, go see your doc for x-rays.
