If swelling has occured it is likely that your injury is beyond a mere bruise. It is likely that there is some sort of fracture, depending on where it could be very serious. The best thing to do would be to go get Xrays and hope for the best. It is also possiable that is is a deep tissue bruise or a muscular injury. does it hurt to palpitate (touch), because if it does it is probably the later of the explanitions.
could be broken. only one way to know for sure, go get x-rays. either its broken, severely sprained or you tore ligments
