Medical persons, I need your help?!

Question: Would I be able to feel if I had a bloodclot in my leg? I have a weird, dull, pressing pain in my ankle that will just come and go. It's always in the same spot. When I say "come and go", I mean, it's like a slow throbbing pulse of pain. It comes on about every 20 seconds or so. Also, my foot feels a little tingly and almost numb, but very mildly so, at times. I tend to get a little hypochondriacal, so I am probably just freaking out over nothing. But, I've been having these feelings in my foot and ankle for about a week now. They came on suddenly, and I had not experienced any falls, or twists. I know I just need to go to the doctor, but my insurance doesn't kick in until next month. Thanks for your help!

I got this answer from my sister, a Nurse.

She say that if there is a blood clot, the leg/ankle area will become very red, swollen and hot. Like a really bad burn. Just worse. you will be able to feel the heat coming off of the skin before touching the area.
Be extremely painful to even the most delicate touch.
The pain from a clot is very, very painful. Especially in the spot of the clot as well as around the site.

If it doesn't feel any better in a day or two with resting it up on something. Icing it and bandaging it. And taking some pain killers such as Paracetamol, then you will need to see your Doctor.

If you had a blood clot in your leg it would hurt if you did this: point your toes then make them come back upright them point them back at the wall then make them point at the ceiling then point them at the wall. If it hurts, then go to the ER.

I'm not a DR but could be a cyst, go to a free clinic if your concerned. But you well need an ultrasound to confirm if in fact it is a blood clot. Blood clots are worse if they are higher up in the leg.

I had a very large clot from the middle of my arm to my shoulder and over a course of about 3 days my arm was very swallown about 5times normal size it started out just a tad painfull and at the third day I couldnt evan move my arm it hurt pretty bad not just a dull pain its a throbbing pain all the time and about 10 times worse when I tryed to move my arm.Just a simple task as to lift my arm slighty to put a pillow under my arm felt so painfull.I could not feel my lower wrist or hand at all.My arm was very red and very warm to the touch.I waited to long causeing the clot to get so bad I had to go to the ER and be addmited to the hospital. So I suggest that if you feel something is wrong you should have it checked out.So look for exterme pain swelling redness and being warm o the touch. At the first day I noticed swelling I actully got a measuring tape and measured my arm every day to see the amount of swelling for the day.So if you have some of the symtoms I have listed see a docter.Hope you feel better and I hope I could help you if you have any thing else you want to know from me please feel free to email me.
