Is it normal for an adult to sleep 16 hours?!

Question: one of my buds slept the other day for 16 hours, granted he smokes weed and drinks. but it's not like he is a chronic alcoholic or anything. we didn't even stay out to late the night before. i think it's weird...any thoughts.

You mention that your friend slept for 16 hours one day - and I assume this was after consuming alcohol and smoking weed. This in itself is not abnormal - with or without the alcohol and smoking, as long as it is not a continuous problem. Our bodies sometimes demand a long rest, especially if we have been running a sleep deficit over a period of time.

However, if that happens on a regular basis, you could encourage your bud to have a health-check. There are many causes of chronic fatigue/tiredness, most of which are easily treated. Just one of these is liver malfunction which can be caused by poor diet or excessive alcohol intake. I once knew someone who slept 22 hours per day due to liver problems.

The sooner the problem is identified, the easier it is to cure.

I sleep a lot but dear me,16 hours is quite a lot.
Anyway ,somebody said that j.Lennon song-I'm only sleeping, had been composed right because he was always sleeping.

Anyway ,if not bored or very tired, your friend may have some problems...!

umm im afraid he has no life..jk...it can be normal sometimes...if its like saturday then its ok...its your body telling oyu you need more sleep..if he slept more regularly then he should be sleeping less at night...
