First of all, "cervical", is a reference for parts of the spine, (vertabrae) that is at the base of the axis (our head sits on that!), there are several vertebrae in that region of the spine refered to as the cervical spine. As you go down the spine you have the thoracic vertebrae (down the chest area), to the lumbar region, at the back below the waste.
This is a simple beginning that may solve your problem. Do you sleep on your stomach, if you do, you are sleeping with your head turned, and may be straining that part of your "cervical" vertebrae, and the muscles that keep them in place. Try sleeping on your back, use support under your neck (maybe roll a pillow). Take an anti-inflamatory, like advil, some kind of ibuprofren, take with food.
See if the next morning, you neck feels better. If so, then don't sleep on your stomach, bad for the neck.

It depends what is causing the pain. You haven't given much detail about this pain. It may be an impinged nerve from a slipped disk, a muscle strain or something else.
Visit a doctor to get a proper diagnosis and then you can get treatment based on what is causing the pain.
Meanwhile you can try not to move your neck suddenly, take tylenol or advil for pain.
Good luck!
