Suspected broken nose?!

Question: My boyfriend slipped and fell down the stairs today, he banged his nose on the bannister, then fell back and banged his head.

I think he's broken his nose, but it's not swollen. It did bleed for about 20 minutes, but stopped, then he said it felt 'funny' he pulled the end of his nose and felt it click, then it bled again.

It seems ok now, it's not swollen, not bruised, just sore now

I've searched online medical websites and the general opinion seems to be that he doesnt need to go to hospital unless he cant breathe, which he says is fine.

So, my question is, do you think he HAS broken his nose? Anyone had experience of this before? It's the fact that it ahsnt swollen that makes me think twice

My daughter broke her nose falling UP the stairs at school. She had to have hers surgically repaired but ONLY because her nose moved to the left side of her face. It was badly deviated. We were told that had there been no deviation there would have been no treatment necessary. If his nose looks aligned and you can run your finger (gently!!!) down the bridge and not feel any bumps or dents it is probably okay to leave alone. He may well have broken it and aligned the bones the moment he heard that "click". Shudder. Good luck.

I would personally get it checked by a GP.
If it isn't bleeding, he can breathe okay, doesn't look swollen, doesn't look out of place, then he probably doesn't have a broken nose - but it never hurts to get it checked out.
Better safe than sorry...and ouch - that sounds painful, hope he isn't in too much pain.

Unless the nose is crooked, there is nothing that can be done. He probably broke it though if it is very sensitive.
