What and when should I do back excercises after falling?!

Question: On MondayI slipped on icy slope and came down hard on the rim of a wheelbarrow parked below.
I fractured 2 ribs on lower right side and am having severe muscle spasms.
Doctor prescribed pain and muscle relaxer meds.
What back exercises are the best, and when can I start?

Back spasms are the first sign that you can absolutely not go back to doing that type of excersizing. The best thing to do right now is rest and let the healing process begin. You see the processes are cateogorized into three main groups. the acute stage which occurs directly after injury and is coincidently where you are at now is the most vital stage as it is when the tissue is examined and repaired by your body. The chronic stage which typically occurs 4 weeks to 3 months after a serious injury is the best time to start revitalizing your muscles by streching and resuming normal activity. As far as wieghtlifting goes you should probably wait until there is no more pain at all when you strech and do your normal activities, The best advise is after you get off the pain meds, is that if it doesnt hurt then it is probably alright to do. Just don't over exert yourself, and take things in stride and soon you will be back to normal.
Hope This helps

You can start doing exercises when you are starting to heal. At this point you must deal with pain control issues- rest, ice, pain medication prescribed by your doctor. Dont rush it you'll know when you start to feel better.

well you cant start untill ur healing
which obviously isnt now if ur haing spasms and im guessing it still hurts
give it a while and consult your doctor
as far as your back do you mean stretching it?
anything that makes your spine go to one direction but if u do anything be careful not to do it to early because you dont wanna just get hurt more
