What type of surgery would leave a 1.50-inch *horizontal* scar just above center!

Question: A female receptionist of Chinese descent has this well-centered, slightly raised and bulbous scar (made visible by a low-cut top) and I can't for the life of me imagine (nor ask her) what type of surgery would produce such a scar. Any doctors out there know of some possibilities?

She may have had mediastinocopy where a surgeon inserts a small tube with a camera and a needle at the end to take a biopsy of a mediastinal mass.

Its also possible that this may be a non-surgical scar. Some people develop keloids (basically large ugly scars) after some type of skin trauma.

A tracheotomy would be very high up in the thorax, basically in the lower neck and not be over the sternum. Thyroid surgery would also be in the neck, well above the sternum.

trachea tube maybe

Possible trachiotomy as the previous responder said or she has had thyroid surgery.

It is thyroid surgery and not a bad scar for this surgery
