Plz answer!? Should I get a cast?!

Question: I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago and it hurts really bad to walk on it and sometimes I cry when I walk on it. I went to go see a podiatrist and he gave me an ankle brace and said not to use the crutches so much. (I was using the crutches prior to the visit) So I tried going to school with no crutches and I was limping really badly and I was like "Oww" the whole day. So my mom was like use the crutches and Im like fine. And yesterday she's like "WALK ON IT FOR ONCE!" And I say "But mom it hurts bad!" And it still really hurts bad.
And if it doesn't get better by Monday I have to go back to the podiatrist. It hurts to move my ankle and it hurts even when Im sitting.

Should I get a cast?

you should get a cast because: (these are just based on what i have learned in our health class)
first of all if you have a sprain, you need to maintain the L position of your foot to avoid furthermore damage,
also you need to put a cast so that it will lessen the pain(but make sure to wrap it correctly, remember L shape)
apply hot compress.. hot not cold or else it might get worse
and if you still have troubles walking bring a cane along with you so that you wont put too much force on the sprained ankle(don't mind bullies if they laugh at you and call you names)
so as summary, you should get a cast

try getting an advice and decision of a doctor..

you probably should get it x-ray of it. I have sprained my ankle in the past and it hurt really bad and had an x-ray and found out it was not broken.

Just bear with it until Monday when you go see the doctor and make sure you're very clear about the pain. What does it feel like? How intense is it? When does it hurt the most (morning, afternoon, etc)? Can you do anything specific to lessen the pain? Does anything specific make it hurt more? Things like that. Really pay attention to things like that so that you can give the doctor a really clear understanding of how you feel. Just saying 'it hurts all the time' isn't really descriptive enough for him to figure out what's going on.

Until Monday, try walking on it without crutches for short periods of time. Sometimes you have to endure the pain in order to heal, but know when enough is enough. Also, when you aren't up walking, elevate your foot. Like if you're in class, prop it up on your bookbag or the chair in front of you. And if it feels like muscle aches, ask your mom if you can use a heating pad while you're at home for 20 minutes at a time.

Good luck!

It's very important that when you have an injury that it recovers fully. When you get older, you don't want to to reappear and be fragile. Get what is needed to have a full recovery.
