Sometimes I can't feel my fingers and toes....?!

Question: My fingers and toes are always purple. Sometimes I can't even feel my fingers and toes. For example, about half an hour ago, I was typing up a report on the computer and I suddenly couldn't feel my pinkies. I still cannot feel them! Also, this morning I could not feel any of my toes. But after a while the feeling came back. Why is this? My dad is an RN I told him that I couldn't feel my fingers earlier and he said that I need to see a cardiologist. Do you think I have a heart problem? I don't know exactly what this could be....

it definitely sounds like heart/circulatory problem. GET IT CHECKED OUT! heart problems can be serious. you probably dont realize that you probably have other symptoms of heart problems. do you ever feel dizzy or light headed? do you feel like vomitting out of the blue? if so, its probably a heart problem.
additiional:
if you are only thirteen, you should totally get it checked because circulatory and heart problems are often more serious for teens and kids. i dont mean to scare you, but i do think it could be serious. listen to your dad and go to the cardiologist

My mother has had kind of the same problem and it was due to her nerves were pinched in her back from slipped discs!!

I am sorry to disagree, but numbness and tingling in the fingers has absolutely nothing to do with the heart whatsoever. Numbness and tingling in the fingers and toes is called "polyneuropathy". Look it up and you will see that there are lots of causes of that, including a disk in the neck, nutritional deficiencies, nerve entrapments.... it is a very long list. A cardiologist cannot help you with this issue. Look up and find a good neurologist ... do not pick one at random.

my sis has a heart problem and thats one of the symptoms she has. it very well could be a heart problem, but you should check just in case. it might not be, but it probably is.

i'm sorry to say that you probably have a heart problem. its probably not extremely serious, but you will definitely need treatment.
