I had my left foot done11 yrs ago. I had just a local anesthetic so I could watch the surgery. The worst part was the injection of the local. I drove home, kept it up & used pain pills & an ice pack to reduce swelling. The1st night was horrible--incredibly painful. By morning it was easily tolerable with pain pills & elevation. They said to use crutches but I was too klutzy--I ended up usiing a walker whenI had to go out, but did ok walking on my heel in the house.
When the wraps came off & xrays said it was healed enuf, I had to flex the joint forwards & backwards 10 times each 5-8 times a day. When I got done, the doc said I had much better range of motion in that toe than most people do without going thru the surgery. I'd have the other done in a heartbeat if I needed it, but I don't think having both done at the same time is a very good idea.Go forit, & goodluck!!
Excuse me?
