High jumping injury help? (Track & Fielders!) <3333?!
Question: Yesterday was my first experience of track and field, and it was quite exhilerating :). I decided after warming up 800m and stretching that I go for the high jump. I did it at three feet, since I'm a beginner, and I got over it after two tries. Now, today, my neck just hurts and I feel like I pulled all my neck muscles, and when i do crunches, it hurts. The pain has spread to my shoulder blades and I can barely bend my head down now. Should I give the jumps up or wait? What should I do to speed up the recovery procesS?

it's probably because you have used muscles that aren't normally used and they need to get used to it, take it easy maybe find out soe stretchs to do before hand to warm up properly and wait a little while before doing high jump again so that you do not do any damage. I loved high jump too :-)
soak in a hot bath with epsom salt - the first few weeks of track season are very painful, but try not to overdo it! You are just using new muscles that you don't usually use.
