My wrist is broken and in a cast. Can I lift weights to keep my arm from atrophe!

Question: or will that mess with my healing? I just don't like how lopsided I'm getting.

Don't do it! The entire point of a cast is to have the bone(s) maintain a particular position. If you start lifting weights, you might create a gap in the bones that are healing, and it will take longer to heal. Once the cast is off, you'll be able to get rid of the lopsidedness in a couple of weeks.

Mostl likely not.. lifting weights will put pressure on your wrist - even if you're just working your bicep or tricep.

You really shouldn't work out "one side" it'll be too tough to balance it out later.

Try some isometric exercises that don't include your wrist... however stop if it hurts....

If you break a bone and let it heal.. it will be stronger.. if you break a bone and it doesn't heal properly it will NEVER be 100% right... Take advice and rest so that it will heal properly.

You won't lose any muscle in the time it takes to heal. You will feel a little weaker for about a week, then everything will be fine.

how did u break it

Real men don't break wrists, they break babies.
