You need to get this looked at pronto. Get yourself referred to a hospital, preferably, as they have all the right tackle to work out what is going on, otherwise GP. It could be nothing at all or it could be anyone of a number of not very pleasant - even dangerous - things (which are treatable if caught early enough). I developed a condition in infancy which was dismissed as me making a fuss : this resulted in neglect which has left me a martyr to crappity hearing ever since.

mine makes funn noises to it has done it for years no idea what it is though??

Otits Media is an infection of the inside of your ear.
You have an infection on the inside of your ear drum. Many people actually loose some hearing from the infections.
The fluttering sound is usually due to the stapes or the little drum stick being stuck in fluid or in your case probably pus.
As the pus decreases so will the aggravating noises.

You have fluid behind your ear drum. You maybe on the verge of an ear infection.

Check if it's Tinnitus.

Is it the result of going out where there is a lot of noise?

it has nothing to do with your eardrums..

Link will explain a lot.. Good luck.. i have it too , it won't go away.

there are physical explanations for this and doctors can explain why a nerve throbs on ur ear....when my ears first started doing that i discovered i was clair audient....if u tune into the internal noises like the fluttering u start to realise that u can hear all sorts of things....u can hear ringing, pitches and tones and the sounds occur in different parts of ur head....this in turn can help u to heal illness in other people ( reiki style) its possible to hear a persons illness ( sounds crazy but give it a go)
