Sores in the corner of my lips that are cracked and won't heal and I'm p!

Question: I had a really bad cold and now I have 2 sores on each corner of my mouth, that crack whenever i eat something, and they arent going away, Its been 5 days since I first noticed them, They are so embarassing I try to hide from everyone. It's not herpes I have been std checked and Im pregnant, I have researched it and it says it could be vitamin deficiency, but I'm taking prenatal vitiamins, so I should be getting a good dose of Vitiamins. Im 10 weeks Pregnant and never had this before. Please somebody help me get them to go away. Also I been putting Neosporin on them.

Try using Carmex. It works really well to heal up those sore cracked spots. And it's safe to use while pregnant.

Very simple problem. Very simple solution.

You have ANGULAR CHEILOSIS.

Sounds bad but it's easily treated. It is a sign of vitamin B deficiency.

Take a multi B50 or B100 vitamin supplement. Specifically, you need vitamin B2 also known as RIBOFLAVIN. Natural sources of vitamin B2 are eggs, milk and yeast products.

If you take a supplement, you should see your condition well on it's way to clearing up within a week. Be patient.

M'kay, I used to get these all the time. Don't worry, you're not sick. I don't think I ever used Neosporin, Carmex is a good suggestion but if you have a preferred lip-balm any that's safe during pregnancy should work fine; I don't know of any lip balm that's approved for use in the US but isn't safe for use during pregnancy but feel free to read labels.

You just have to keep from opening your mouth too wide until it's healed. Cut your food in teeny-tiny-iddy-bitty bites and open your mouth only as far as you need it to get the food inside.

For any pain I suggest Tylenol and/or an oral anesthetic such as Ambasol or Orajel applied to the wound(s) with a q-tip.

If these wound(s) do not go away within a week or two check with your dentist or dermatologist, they might know of a treatment that we don't.

Hope I helped.

Try Vaseline
