ok, first off it is 99% not thrush... you see thrush in 1. babies 2. the immunocompromised (late stage HIV, kidney transplant recipients on immunosuppressant medications) and not likely in a 14 yr old. 2nd it is not likely strep throat without pain while swallowing, fever, swollen neck lymph nodes, redness surrounding the area, etc. It likely is either an apthous ulcer (canker sore) which do not have to be painful or a immuno-reaction of the body against an intruder at that spot (you classically see these on the tonsils of children). These may or may not be painful as well. Finally, she may have food stuck there. If i were in your shoes, i would not worry about anything unless she begins to feel sick (fever, sore throat, fatigued). Finally, do not try to remove the dot - you could cause her to gag which may cause you to drop the instrument you are using down her hatch and then you will have a major problem!

Sounds like thrush. You'll have to get her to a doctor so he prescribe antibiotics. Otherwise it may get worse and she may get an infection or could lead to strep throat.

Could be strep throat. Have a doctor check it out; left untreated it can seem like it goes away but it just goes someplace else in the body and can cause troubles.

She could try to gargle with warm salty water...so salty it tastes very salty not yucky. That would wash out anything like mucus too and help her feel better.

It could be the onset of tosilitis. Tonsilitis presents itself in the form of whitening of the tonsils. The patient ends up feeling rotten after a few days and can get the feeling of having a sore throat of like having something stuck in the throat especially when they swallow. It is simply treated by antibiotics, so a small trip to the doctor is in order. Tonsilitis isnt serious, but it can be really annoying and hurt a fair bit.
