Any tips on how to quit smoking for good?!

Question: My husband and I quit for about two years because we had our first son. Then he picked it up again, and shortly after I started too. Then we found out that we were having another baby and I quit again, he didn't, so it made it really hard for me.
I started again after weaning Jack from breast feeding. And now I am to the point that I hate smoking so much but have problems following through. I quit again for two weeks and then at work I stand around with people that do and I am tempted and do smoke one. Now, I bought a pack again. I don't smoke as much as I used to but still I need to get over this habit. Help!!!

dont buy them ,dont bum them, stay away from people who smoke, it is a drug and you are an addict. treat it like an addiction, one day at a time ,each day you will get stronger, its all about will power. positive thinking!

Stop beating yourself up over it. It's a habit. I happen to bite on my pens, if I have gum, it helps.

Maybe try putting something (other than food, otherwise you'll get fat) into your mouth, like a mint, or gum, I've never smoked before, but remember this, second hand smoke is worse than actually smoking. Think of your children, I have slight asthma because my parents smoked.

People think that cutting down will help.. it wont no matter how many you smoke a day.. its bad for you, so just stop all together.
if you don't want to use a patch or nicorrette gum, avoid buying them, exercise daily, eat healthy.. keep this up for a few weeks and the Resistance will get easier to handle its like dieting you can do it but its a little hard

I quit while my child was very young, he is now an adult who does not smoke. Your children will have health problems if you smoke around them and their chances of smoking are greatly increased by your smoking. Not to mention you just may die from smoking after you have infected them and before they are grown up.
