Are oxycodone hcl 5mg capsule time released?!
Question: I was prescribed these by my doctor and was expecting them to be tablets (like namebrand oxycontin), but they were capsules instead. are these time released? or is the capsule they use a fast dissolving capsule. (i always thought capsules were time released). i was wondering it it would be wise to pull the capsule apart and eat the powder for a faster effect.

No they're not time released, they're immediate released. They'll dissolve easily, perhaps even more easily than a regular pill. The coating dissolves very fast. Here's a fact sheet for you:

sounds like IR, instant release. DO NOT pull it apart and take the powder. That's how people get dead of the medication.
