Heel Pain!?!

Question: I am a 14 year old boy and have some heel pain. After I played a basketball game about 3 days ago the pain started. It almost hurts to run, go up stairs, etc. Could this be heel spurs? It has never happened before and I've been playing basketball for over 5 years now.

Thanks

Thanks

my brother had the same thing. try going to a running sports store... they have heel pads that you can put in your shoes to make it more comfortable to run and stuff. but if the pain keeps up then you should see a doctor. worst case could be that you have a stress fracture in your foot, but i highly doubt that. don't strain it, and be careful with it. don't push yourself too hard.

Possibly plantar fasciitis. Best place to start is your family doc, for diagnosis. Try advil or alleve for the pain, try to rest it as much as possible, ice if that seems to make it feel better. Sometimes it can be dealt with by using an orthotic in the shoe, sometimes physical therapy, some times cortisone shots, & even very rarely surgery. Start at the beginning & be sure what you're dealing with. Good luck!

Look up plantar fasciitis. It should be very helpful to discuss with your doctor.

You might be suffering from one or more heel spurs. You might want to visit www.bonespur.com to determine this. This site share what causes heel spurs and what people have done to rid heel spurs without surgery.

Best wishes!
