Story writing help.?!

Question: If a girl was at school and fell down a pair of stairs and broken her femur, what would happen? She would most likely lie there swinting her eyes in agony. A teacher would come running... then what? Would they have to get the nurse and the principal or just call 911 right away? What would the medics do once they get there? What would happen at the hospital? How long would she get a cast?

I am not attempting this dreadful task, but need it to write a story. I need this piece of information because this has never happened to me and I am unfamiliar with the event. I would hate to write false information in my exasperating novel. Can you fill me in?

I don't think breaking your femur falling down stairs is very realistic, but it could happen.

The femur is the strongest bone in your body and breaking it is a very serious thing. I know a boy who broke his, I was there when it happened. You could hear the bone split. He was in a lot of pain and had to have surgery. And I guess guys don't show a lot of emotion, but he was in a LOT of pain, as you can imagine.
