Is Flexeril any good?!

Question: I went to see my doctor because I am having severe problems with my lower back and my legs. She gave me Flexeril, but it really doesn't feel like it's working. So, is it any good?

Flexeril works to relax your skeletal muscles. It really depends on the type of pain you are experiencing with your lower back and legs.

Typically, Flexeril has a tendency to put you to sleep. The dosage of 10mg usually works at relaxing any muscles that may have spasmed, or if you have muscle pain due to a cramp or strain.

For me, I've personally stopped taking it for the lower back strains I commonly get, because it more or less knocks me to sleep. It works for me in relaxing the muscle, but what good is it if you're asleep?

If it isn't zonking you out, you might try taking 20mg, but again, beware of consequences of exceeding recommended dosages. As a general rule, Flexeril is a skeletal muscle relaxer, so there is low risk of any kind of death by overdose, although it would be unpleasant.

The wiki article for Flexeril is well cited and written. Please take a look at it for more information about the drug.

its a muscle relaxer....i heard it works pretty good....if not you can always ask your doctor for Soma (Carisoprodol) or Tramadol (Ultram)....or even a painkiller like Vicodin (Hydrocodone 5/500) or Darvocet (Proproxyphene)...good luck!

Flexeril works well with relaxing the muscles of back and legs, but with me it zonked me out. I find either Norflex, Methacarbamol or soma works better with less drowsiness.

BEWARE of Soma. It is very addictive. I find Flexeril works well. But if you are like me it will cost you about 12 hours of BLAHH..

no it never worked for me
