Can you help with my prescription directions?!

Question: My prescription directions are as follows:

TAKE 1 TO 4 TABLETS BY MOUTH EVERY 6 HOURS AS NEEDED FOR ITCHING

What I am wondering is how many pills or tablets should I take every 6 hours? Is it saying that I can take 2 or 3 at a time if I feel I need it?

Thanks a lot!!!

Start with 1 tablet every 6 hours for 1 day. If you don't get relief, increase it to 2 and so on. Just do it slow, incrementing every day till you get good relief.

Yes it is saying that you can take up to 4 pills every six hours!
If you are really worried you should call the pharmacy and ask them they wont stear you in the wrong direction!

call your pharmacy. they can tell you exactly what you need to do.

Yes you can take up to 4 at one time........The best thing to do is if you start Itching take like 2 tablets wait 30 minuets and see if it helps.....if at the end of 30 minuets it does not help take 1 more tablet...wait 30 more minuets....if it does not help take the 4th tablet. (but do not take moe than 4 total in a 6 hour time frame) .......If the original 2 tablets helped the next time you need to take some start off with only 1 tablet..........It was prescribed in this was as the Doctor / drug manufacture realizes the dose will act differently in different people.

start with the smallest dose. you don't HAVE to take it every six hours... and if it's diphenhydramine *benadryl* it's gonna probably make you sleepy so be careful! ?
