I hate to say it but it is probably a broken toe. You can go to the Dr but they can't do anything for you except give ya some pain meds. My suggestion would be tape it to your next toe and take some tylenol. I have had to do this several times. Small toe is bad but when ya do the big one it is nearly devastating ya can't walk or anything. Good luck and I hope it stops hurting soon.

put ice on it

You broke your toe, you need to go to your doctor to find a regime to have it heal fully.

Broke my toe a few days ago, use med tape & tape it to your next toe....

I've got some crooked toes 'cause I didn't tape them... just a word for the wise

Sounds like a fractured toe, which the only treatment is to tape it to the other toes to keep it sorta straight. Rest, Ice, Compression and Elevation is used for most injuries like that. I would skip the compression part but lay with your foot up in the air some, take ibuprofen for the swelling (important), put ice on it in 20 minute increments.

You do need to go to the doctor though, usually broken toes don't result in bruising to the foot, theres a good chance you also broke one of the many little bones in your foot.

Wow do i know that feeling. The best thing is loose shoes for walking and ice for support try using bandage tape and tape your toe to another for support. Don't tape to tight as to turn your toe blue and watch for circulation control.
But it works and offers support. Keep your feet up when you can also to prevent swelling

get an xray, avoid weight bearing, and treat the pain.
