Suboxone in Recovery?!

Question: I've been on Suboxone for 6 months and in Recovery for the same amount of time. I feel like I'm not gaining the full benefit of Recovery since I am still dependent on this medication. I know that in time I will get off out it and I don't want to rush it, but is there anyone dealing with the same issue. Should I still be proud and count my days the same?

I was on methadone for 3 years, for back pain because pain pills just wasn't taking the pain away any more. Well my doctor put me on suboxone and I have been on that for 4 months now and it has been a life a saver for me. But I am not in recovery, I have been home with the suboxone for 4 months. I still count my days for being sober. Which will be 4 months on the 25th. Even though you are on this medicine you are still clean and sober. There are almost no withdrawls from this medicine. Today was the first day I actually forgot to take my suboxone and I have been ok with out it. So hang in there it will get better you have made it this far and that is a lot!!!!! Some people don't even make this far. Good luck to you!! Hang in there. And yes you should be very proud and count your days!!!!!! I do.
