Why health insurance wants my prescription information?!

Question: it appears as though the insurance i got through school is surprised now that they realize i'll probably save more money than i spent
i'm a bit concerned because i'm worried they have some weird trick

i thought i had made it clear what medications i was on and for what reasons
and while they have covered them for the past 2 months it appears that the first time i used it was the date they inquire about
now they want to know what i am taking and for what reason
they want to know my dr even though they are listed at the top
and for some reason it's really focused on since feb, 2007

why now do they want all this information?
don't they know it already?
do i really have to tell them?

They want your complete medical history. You only have to tell them if you want to maintain your insurance coverage. These companies will sometimes change representatives handling certain categories of clients. These reps then try to get all the same information all over again. I've been through that more than once.

Also, do not count on any division of a large company sharing all its information with other divisions. I worked for a very large corporation and had to almost laugh at the lack of communication at times.

Put all the information together, preferably electronically if they will accept that, then update it as changes occur. Then you can send one e-mail with a few attachments and they will have all they need and will have it in case you change insurors.
