Too soon for a refill?!

Question: Im on a very mild pain killer for scoliosis..Darvocet. 11 Days ago my doctor gave me a prescription of 40 pills. On the bottle it says take 1 pill every 6 hours as needed for pain. I took it every 6 hours (about 4 a day) and Im out. Is it too soon to ask for a refill? I dont want him to think i am abusing them. I asked him about a week ago for something stronger because the Darvocets kinda suck & dont do much at all but he said no. So what do yall think?

If your pain is constant, you should see a pain management specialist. Most doctors fear giving out controlled subtances on a regular basis, even the relatively mild ones. Pain specialists are experts in treating pain, and have other tools at their disposal than systemic drugs like darvocet. Regular doctors risk being sued for addition or investigated for what appears to be a questionable amount of controlled substances.

Because of the pain you are having it is not too soon to ask for a refill. Most doctors figure that you will use the 4 pills each day.

Pain killer for what?

they aren't working, ask your Dr. for some thing stronger, never hurts to ask,if he says no again go to a different doctor.Darvocets do suck.
