But now my wrist hurst more everytime I twist it or move my hand fast. What can I do to make it better???

first off, to the 1st person that "tried" to help with the RICE protocol, C does not stand for calm when you already have rest in there. C stands for compression, by means of an ace wrap or some type of sleeve. and for the person above me, that told you to go to ER asap, you do NOT need to waste your time there. they'll like an inch above a nurse. they just hold you off until you can see a specialist, besides you're not in major distressed with some life-threatening issue.

anyway, keep it immobilized. the cracking sound possibly means that a ligament or tendon subluxed (dislocated) over another prominent area during your activity. only problem is, we're not for certain it's not broken without getting an xray. i'm sure it's not, but if there is even the smallest of breaks, you can risk displacing it by not treating it with a cast or immobilizing it. if you let it heal on it's on, it might heal improperly, causing future problems such as early arthritis. but, at this point, i suggest icing it as much as possible. take ibuprofen/aleve/motrin (either one of those will help) as directed on the bottle. you can take a little more than what the bottle says, but if you have to take that much already, i suggest seeing a doctor. if you have tremendous swelling, keep it elevated as much as you can, holding your hand above your heart when standing upright, or if you're laying down, prop it over some pillows that resting on your tummy. keep it immobilized! if it still hurts or is still swollen after a few more days, make an appt w/ an orthopaedic surgeon (possibly a hand/wrist specialist in that clinic). we all have busy/active lifestyles, but your health is more important.

good luck. hopefully its not a break and hopefully you wont need an MRI to rule out SL damage.

R -rest

I - ice

C - Calm

E - Elevate it

good luck

you could have sprained or broken your wrist, if I were you I would go and get it checked out if it does'nt stop hurting.

i think you should go to the emergency room asap...it's probably broken...especially if you drink pain killers and you still have pain...it wont be a waste of time...it will be better safe than sorry...
