Have you ever had to do CPR on someone?!

Question: Did it work? I have and it didn't.

Answers: Did it work? I have and it didn't.

Yes, one save.....many losses. Percentage rate for survival of cardiac arrest without early defibrillation is VERY low.

Yes...and it worked for a while, but she eventually died when they took her off life support. So actually no in the long run it didn't work.

many times a very low% ever survive

I used an AED on a woman and she pulled through. The chances of survival with the use of a trained person with an AED are substantial!

No, I've never had to do it, and I hope I never do. I'm a certified personal trainer (though I'm not working as one at the moment), and personal trainers have to be CPR certified.

My CPR instructor, who was a paramedic, told us he'd had to do it 5 times. He said he was 0-for-5.

.

No, but I climbed all the way down a cliff just to find out he was already dead...

No, but i'm training to be a registered nurse so expect I may have to do it one day.

Best chances are to get them to a defibliator as soon as possible. Many workplaces are now installing these machines!!

I have done it a few times. The first man was in his 50s and a security guard checking on the class. People thought he was joking and he was pleased to have his life back. The next was soon after and in his 80's. He was so sad and depressed at being brought back. He cried alot and went home to die. I make sure I know if the person has a DNR and have one for myself.
