Does anyone know how long it takes for a broken hand to heal up?!
Question: I should have asked the doctors today but i forgot.i broke it on friday,all they have done is bandage it up,i cant do anything but i have to go back for some sort of therapy.i forgot what the actual name of this therapy is,does anyone know what its called so i can explain it to my employer? Its the metatarsel on my little finger and hurts like hell.

What doctor kind of doctor did you see? Usually metacarpal fractures are casted. Physical therapy is not normally given to post fracture patients till the fracture is healed. Are you sure the doctor isn't sending you to have a reduction?
First stop trying to use your finger. Find out what exactly they are sending you for.
If they didn't send you to a ortho hand doctor you need to see one in the next few days. Hand fractures will start to heal within a week. It is important to have it evaluated by a orthopedist in that time window. If it starts to heal improperly it can cause you problems in the future with either function or appearance.
After it is splinted/casted in the correct anatomical position it will take about 6wks to heal.
Tell your employer you broke your hand. If you are unable to work with it you are eligible for disability till you are recovered.
Metacarpal fractures usually take approximately 6 weeks to heal. They most likely left you in a soft wrap due to swelling and are having you return for a cast next week? Therapy usually isn't necessary until after the fracture has healed and only if you are having difficulty with stiffness in range of motion.
u mean metacrapal 5th metacarpal about 6 weeks i did it punched a wall its still no better now though i did it 14 weeks ago it broke 4th mc dislocated crossed over each other broke both of my fingers and disloacted both mi knuckles u wil get a lump on the bak of ur hand aswell new bone growth good luck ull need it
