Your Dr. is correct on not using ibuprofen anymore. You are at high risk of stomach ulcers/ bleeding ulcers. I too, take alot of ibuprofen and have severe headaches too. My headaches/ migranes last anywhere from 2-6 days. I am on Imitrex 100mg. It's the strongest you can get from Imitrex. There is one catch though, you have to take Imitrex AS SOON AS YOU FEEL A MIGRANE coming on. Otherwise,it does not work.Ask your Dr. to prescribe you migrane medication. OR seek help from a second opinion. Get a CT done on your head to make sure there's no underlying condition causing these headaches. I hope you get better soon!!

migranes it sounds like. stay away from stimulant foods and drinks like cola and chocolate. also dairy products are supposed to make things worse. also drink plenty ( 8-9 glassses) of water a day, try a herbal tonic instead of iburofen as hese are harsh on the liver. There is a remedy called feverfew available at health food shops.

This sounds like stress. But, there are a couple of questions to answer. Have you been to an opthamologist to xray your eye? You could have a blockage if you have trouble seeing when you get these headaches. You should examine what brings these headaches on. Is it food related, a certain event that has brought it on, lack of sleep? Try keeping a diary. This might help to detemine your triggers. Hope this helps

HI,
i too suffer with really bad migraines which is what it sounds like you get, they are very different to headaches and the pain is immense,do you see flashing lights in your eyes or do you become sensitive to the light when you get them.
i suffer really bad with them and have to lie down in complete darkness to dull the pain nausea is one of the main symptoms of migraine to,if you speak to your doctor they can prescribe strong pain killers otherwise i would try migralieve from your pharmacist they will help a lot you take different colours for nausea and for pain.
i hope this helps you.

i had migraines for years until the doctor gave me pizotifen tablets, it`s more of a preventative medicine you have to take one tablet every night forever.now i very seldom get a migraine and when i do its not as painful.

yes i get headaches like these i found it was due to lack of caffeine, i drink strong black coffee. If i don't have a coffee in the morning by dinner I'm in agony cant move as it feels like my brain is knocking against my head, i have to me in darkness, feel sick and crying with once started no painkillers work

It seems everyone has a trigger...know an old man who suffered for most of his adult life. About 20 yrs ago, got allergy tested on advice from specialist to just rule out any food or contact trigger...He was off the chart allergic/reactive to bacon...nitrates. He removed from his diet and immediately no more headaches. I think it was not just a fluke. He remained headache free for years until he died at 93.

Of course it might not be allergy related, but you might start adding together, diary if you will what might be your trigger. Surely they did mri on you to rule out brain aneurism or tumor. My grandson is in 6th grade and his teacher at Christmas had aneurism on point of rupture...she kept getting advice from Dr. to change pain meds, etc, for 5 years. She had had mri five years ago after onset of headaches that would not resolve. It must have been there then but was so small it did not show up on the scan.

Have you had your sinuses cleaned out? Been on long term antibiotic treatment? Ther could be low grade long term infection that has never resolved.

The ibuprofen has a set of problems all its own. You must be careful to eat when taking them. Long term can have serious complications. Keep trying. Good luck.

This is possibly a migraine. You need to stop taking the Ibuprofen because eventually it will affect your stomach. See a doctor and mention the fact that you think it may be a migraine. I have the worst headaches all the time so I know how you feel. It could be caused by spinal problems too. Only a doctor can really prescribe something that will help you. Good luck!
